Good morning Run TOO Overcome,

This is your Race Director, Bear Robinson. I hope you all are as excited as I am about the event this year (10K, 5K, Fun Run). We have had an extraordinary number of participants register so far. With one week to go till race day there are just under 500 participants registered. Registration will be available until race day morning (online till Tuesday and Friday and Saturday at packet pickup). I will give you all the particular information and instruction you will need over the next week leading up to the run/walk on Saturday.

Thursday – Packet pick up (individual school pickup)

PTO Room (across from gym). 8:00am – 9:30am and 3:00pm – 4:30pm

Barrette Elementary
7:20am – 8:00am PTA location Bailey Middle School 7:15am – 9:15am PTA location 

Highland Creek Elementary School 
Parent Center. 7:30am – 3:00pm 

Phoenix Montessori School 
Thursday during school hours from Lauren Haser 

Huntersville Elementary School 
10:30am – 12:30pm and 5:30pm - 6:30pm. By the fish tank 

JM Alexander Middle School 
8:45am – 5:00pm. See Ms. Kohlmeyer 

JV Washam Elementary School
Parent Center. 7:15am – 8:00am and 10:30am – 1:30pm 

Blyth Elementary School 
Media Center. 7:15am – 8:00am and 3:00pm – 4:30pm

If you affiliated yourself with one of these schools during the registration process you can pick you pace packet up at these schools. These are the only schools that will have onsite packet pick and will only have your information if you registered under one of these particular schools. You will be permitted to pick up packets for other people. However, we will not be able to replace lost or forgotten bibs without a $5.00 fee. If you do not pick up your packet at a school it will be delivered to one of the following packet pick up sites.

Friday – Packet Pick-up (Dicks Sporting Goods, Birkdale Village)

Packet pick on Friday February 28th will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm. Volunteers will help you with receiving all your materials for the race during that time. There will also be onsite registration at that location. Onsite registration will be as follow – 10k - $40, 5k timed - $30, 5k untimed - $25, kids fun run - $15. We will accept cash or check for registration on site.

Saturday – Race Day Packet Pick-up (Downtown Davidson, NC – Town Green)

Registration and packet pickup will take place the morning of the race beginning at 7:30 am and ending at 8:45 am. Registration for the fun run will remain open till 10:00 am. If you do not pick up your packet on Thursday or Friday it will be delivered to the Town Green (in front of the Library) that morning. Registration and Packet pickup will close promptly at 8:45 to give us time to start on time. Please leave yourself enough time in the morning to travel in, park, walk to the green and gather all your materials. Onsite registration will be as follow – 10k - $40, 5k timed - $30, 5k untimed - $25, kids fun run - $15. We will accept cash or check for registration on site.

Race Day Morning - Itinerary

Volunteers arrive 6:30-7:30 am

Registration and Packet pick up 7:30 – 8:45 am

Race Start ~ 9:00 am

Because of the small number of 10k participants I have decided to start the 10k, 5k (timed), 5k (untimed) together. I ask that everyone with a timing device please start at the front and those who do not have a timing device please start at the back. If you are running with small children, strollers, pets (on a leash) please start in the back of the field.

5K awards 9:50 am (you do not have to be present of receive your award)

Kids Fun Run ~10:00 (course is approximately 1 mile and will start from the same start line as the other events)

10K awards ~10:30 (you do not have to be present to receive your award)

**awards can be picked up after the event at Fleet Feet Sport in Birkdale Village starting the Monday after the event

Parking

Parking in Downtown Davidson will be very crowded with 600+ runners. Please allow yourself time to find parking. Options for parking are local streets, local businesses, local churches, Davidson College. There is no true designated location for parking so leave yourself enough time to park and walk in to the start line

Volunteers

Volunteers will meet between 6:30 and 7:30 am on the steps of the Library in Downtown Davidson where you will be given you particular job description. The mission of the Run Too Overcome is to provide awareness and support for the children, families, and teachers whom meet the daily challenges, and celebrate the joys, of supporting our special needs community. The Run Too Overcome unites our community each year to raise funds to provide our special needs teachers with the equipment and supplies needed to provide differentiated instruction to enrich and engage students of all ability levels.
